History

Apo-aporawan is located in the southern part of Aborlan and serves as the boundary of the Municipality of Aborlan in the south. It is surrounded by the Sulu sea on east, Barangay Tigman on the north, Barangay Tinagong Dagat of Narra on the south and on the west by Barangay Sandoval of Narra, Palawan which was formerly called Apo-aporawan

The Tagbanua tribes were first people in this Barangay. They occupied this area to make kaingin, so that they can plant palay, corn and root crops.

Legend tell us that the natives called their grandmother and grandfather “Apo” and almost all the people living in this place at that time were their grandchildren, a reason why the Barangay was called Apo-aporawan.

It is said that the first Teniento del Barrio was Baltazar Magtanong, that was in the year 1946. He made an effort to make Apo-aporawan a regular Barangay and to establish an elementary school.
