In celebration of Nutrition Month, a Culminating Activity was held at Aborlan Municipal Covered Court last July 27, 2023. Activities include the search for the Little Miss Nutrition 2023, Boodle Fight Competition, Heaviest Saba Harvest, and Awarding of Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Implementers.
Healthy and talented kids from Poblacion, Isaub, Magbabadil, Tigman, Plaridel, Cabigaan, Tagpait, Apo-Aporawan, Iraan, Sagpangan, San Juan, Mabini, and Magsaysay competed for the title of Little Miss Nutrition 2023. The little candidates showed their talents in dancing in the production number, followed by the talent portion where the candidates’ talents in singing, dancing, and poetry were actively showcased through their performances. The next part of the competition emphasized the resourcefulness and creativity of the parents and guardians in creating their creative attires. Candidates wore dresses designed with fruits and vegetables. At the end of the competition, the candidate from Brgy. Poblacion stood out among the rest and won the title of Little Miss Nutrition 2023. The first runner up title was won by Cabigaan, followed by Iraan (2nd Runner Up). Other special awards were also awarded to the candidates for the Best in Production, Best in Talent, Best in Creative Attire, and Best in Q & A.
A Boodle Fight Competition “Pinggang Pinoy Edition” was also held in the same day, where participants from 14 barangays of Aborlan gathered to show their creatively decorated tables containing the three major groups of food; Go, Grow, and Glow. The purpose of this contest is to educate people about the recommended food intake for adults. Participating barangays were judged based on the quality and quantity of food, affordability, presentation, overall impact, and team participation. After careful tabulation of the results, Barangay Tigman won the contest with 88.17%, followed by Iraan, garnering an average score of 85.33%, and Jose Rizal with 83.83%. A special award was also given to Brgy. Jose Rizal for serving the best Healthy Juice in the competition.
An award for the Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Implementer was also given to Brgy. San Juan, Mabini, Apo-Aporawan, Poblacion, and Tigman. A special recognition was also given to Bubusawin Elementary School (1st Place) for the Best Gulayan sa Paaralan, followed by Tigman Elementary School. The Contest for the Heaviest Saba in Bunch was also won by Brgy. Tigman, followed by Gogognan, and Cabigaan.
