Barangay Mabini lies in the northwestern part of the Municipality of Aborlan. One (1) kilometer away from the town proper and it occupies an area of 284.3 hectares.
Barangay Mabini was once a sitio of Barangay Magbabadil and it was known as sitio Tagbolo-bolo. The place then known as the Tagbolo-bolo due to the noticeable abundance of bamboo’s “Bolo” in native dialect.
In the year 1940-1948, immigrants from the province of the Antique settled in the Barangay. They were the Dioso, Asuncion, Talde, Suclan, Labrador, Manzano, and Letero families. Year after year the relative keep coming and settled in the Barangay, with the coming of the Antique numbers, year 1954. Sitio Tagbolo-bolo was organized into a Barangay under the leadership of Mr. Petronillo Letero, Mabini is now the present name of the Barangay.
